BHCC Club Members' Day
Would you like to join other club members and learn more about boating? The Club Members' Day is run by members for members in a relaxed and social atmosphere to encourage the sharing of boating knowledge.
Location
06 May 2018, 10:30 am
Empire Marina, Bobbin Head
Details
The day commences with morning tea and includes three 30-minute Information Sessions taking place in small groups on members' boats, followed by lunch.
INFORMATION SESSIONS:
"Anchors Away!"
Scott Andressen of “Five Star” will provide a detailed session and discussion including anchor types, how much rode to use, how to assess your anchorage position before “dropping the pick” and anchor dragging. He’ll then run a practical demonstration in the bay so he can put theory into practice.
"Sparky Tips"
Our boat electrical systems are complex as well as expensive and inconvenient when things go wrong. Craig McFarlane of MCM Marine will explain some basic maintenance we can all do to minimise problems or help diagnose an issue whilst out on the water. Craig will also cover battery maintenance and charging and answer some of your electrical questions.
"Spit & Polish"
Everyone enjoys a sparkling clean boat. Not only does it look great but some basic regular cleaning will help maintain your boat's condition and help prevent other issues. Murray Grimley of Sydney Marine Detailing will cover some cleaning techniques, what to do and not to do, types of products to use and discuss any questions you may have.
